    Pelayanan surat menyurat di Fakultas Teknik saat ini dilakukan secara langsung dengan pemohon datang ke fakultas teknik dan proses penerbitannya menggunakan Microsoft Word, dalam pengajuan surat yang dilakukan perubahan dalam satu file word dan masih belum memanfaatkan fitur Mail Merge yang ada di Microsoft Excel, sehingga apabila ada pengajuan surat lainnya akan menghilangkan histori surat sebelumnya, kondisi tersebut menyulitkan kepala tata usaha atau sekretaris Prodi tidak bisa memonitoring pengajuan surat oleh mahasiswa atau dosen. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah membangun sistem monitoring pengajuan surat berbasis web yang dapat diakses dimanapun dan kapanpun. Penelitian ini menggunakan metodologi R&D (Research and Development) dengan model pengembangan Scrum. Desain sistem yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini menggunakan prosedural yaitu flowchart, data flow diagram dan entity relationship diagram. Sistem berbasis web ini dapat membantu memudahkan kepala tata usaha dalam memonitoring pengajuan surat yang diajukan mahasiswa. Berdasarkan hasil penelitian yang dilakukan dengan menggunakan pengujian eksternal diperoleh nilai 78,3% yang dapat disimpulkan bahwa aplikasi tersebut dikategorikan layak untuk digunakan dalam monitoring pengajuan surat di Fakultas Teknik Universitas Nurul Jadid Paiton

    A Review on the Incidence, Interaction, and Future Perspective on Zika Virus

    Zika virus (ZIKV) belongs to the family Flaviviridae and genus Flavivirus. It is a single‑stranded positive‑sense ribonucleic acid (RNA) virus, has its origin traced to Zika forest in Uganda. Its infection leads to ZIKV fever, characterized by arthralgia, myalgia, rash, conjunctivitis, and asthenia. Clinical presentation of the infection is nonspecific and may often be confused with symptoms of other flaviviral diseases (dengue, West Nile [WN], and chikungunya). Recently, ZIKV has been associated with congenital malformations and neurological complications such as microcephaly and Guillain–Barre’ syndrome. The viral tropism revealed an infection of the skin fibroblasts, keratinocytes, and immature dendritic cells through enhanced expression of dendritic cell‑specific intracellular adhesion molecule 3‑grabbing nonintegrin or anexelecto (Greekword: 'uncontrolled’) and tyrosine protein kinase receptor 3 systems. Silencing of T‑cell immunoglobulin (Ig) and mucin domain 1 (TIM‑1) and AXL RNAs has shown blockage of viral entry through their anti‑TIM‑1 and anti‑AXL antibodies, hence serving as a potential target for ZIKV drug development.Biotechnological approaches targeted toward ZIKV vector control include the development of transgenic mosquitoes to disrupt the genome pool of wild strains and use of an endosymbiotic bacterium to prevent replication of arboviruses within its vector. Other approaches include the use of gene drive and exploration of the genetic redundancy to disrupt the receptors used by the virus to gain entry into its host. It is also imperative to explore the modality through which neutralizing antibodies block this viral infection as this may prove as a potential target to arrest the viral life cycle.KEY WORDS: Flavivirus, microcephaly and Guillain–Barre’ syndrome, mosquito, receptors, Zika viru

    PENGARUH KEPEMIMPINAN TERHADAP TINGKAT KESADARAN MASYARAKAT DALAM KEPEMILIKAN KARTU TANDA PENDUDUK

    The purpose of this research is describe and explain the influence of  village government  leadership toward the level of public  awareness in possession of an identity card. This kind of research is descriptive quantitatif. Type of research is survey research. The sample are 90 people. Technic of determining sample used the slovin formula and elected the proportionate stratified random sampling from population of  922 people from. Data collection techniques used  the distribution of questionnaires and study literature. The result showed a positive effect between village government  leadership toward the level of public awareness. The influence of leadership on the level of awareness public in possession of identity card is as many as for 38.31 % and 61.69 % influenced by other factors.  Keywords: leadership, awerness of government, identity card                                                                            Tujuan dari penelitian ini untuk mengambarkan dan menjelaskan pengaruh kepemimpinan pemerintahan desa terhadap tingkat kesadaran masyarakat dalam kepemilikan Kartu Tanda Penduduk. Jenis penelitian ini adalah deskriptif  kuantitatif. Tipe penelitian yaitu penelitian survey. Sampelnya sebanyak 46 orang masyarakat desa. Teknik penentuan sampel menggunakan rumus slovin yang dipilih secara proportionate  stratified random sampling dari populasi 922 orang berdasarkan jenjang pendidikan. Teknik pengumpulan data yang digunakan yaitu pembagian kuesioner dan studi literatur. Hasil penelitian menunjukan adanya pengaruh positif antara kepemimpinan pemerintahan desa terhadap tingkat kesadaran masyarakat. Pengaruh kepemimpinan terhadap tingkat  kesadaran masyarakat dalam kepemilikan kartu tanda penduduk sebesar 38,31% dan 68,69% di pengaruhi oleh faktor lain. Kata kunci: kepemimpinan, kesadaran masyarakat, KT

    Estimation of Design Flood Hydrographs for Osun River at Iwo Control Station in Osun State, Nigeria

    oai:journal.engineering.fuoye.edu.ng:article/13The unit and storm hydrographs for the catchment of  Osun River at Iwo station Osun State, Nigeria were developed. Soil Conservation Service (SCS) and Snyder’s unit hydrograph methods were used to develop synthetic hydrographs for the catchment, while the SCS Curve Number method was used to estimate excess rainfall values from rainfall depth of different return periods. The peak storm flows obtained based on the unit hydrograph ordinates using convolution procedures determined by SCS for rainfall events of  10yr, 20yr, 50yr, 100yr and 200yr return periods for the catchment  vary from 819.87 m3/s to 1681.34 m3/s, while those based on Snyder’s method for the catchment vary from  551.41m3/s to 1134.86 m3/s . The statistical analysis at 5% level of significance indicated that there were significant differences in the two methods. The analysis showed that the total peak flows for different return periods obtained from SCS method is higher than that of Snyder’s method by 33.16%. SCS method was recommended for use on the watershed since it incorporates most major hydrological and morphological characteristics of the basins like the watershed area, main channel length, river channel slope and watershed slope

    PENGARUH PERILAKU BELAJAR MENGGUNAKAN MODEL KOOPERATIF TIPE NHT TERHADAP HASIL BELAJAR IPS

    Problems in this study is still low learning outcomes IPS students and teachers have not applied NHT type cooperative model in learning in class V SD Negeri 1 Rajabasa Raya. The method used in this research is the quasi experiment method with the design of the Nonequivalent Control Group Design study. The sampling technique uses a saturated sample. Data collection techniques are tests, observations and documentation. Data were analyzed using simple linear regression test and t test. The result of simple linear regression analysis obtained the conclusion that there is influence of learning result of IPS student using NHT type cooperative learning model in class V SD Negeri 1 Rajabasa Raya. While the results of t test analysis concluded that there are differences in learning outcomes IPS students using NHT type cooperative model with the results of IPS learning students using the lecture method in class V SD Negeri 1 Rajabasa Raya.Masalah dalam penelitian ini adalah masih rendahnya hasil belajar IPS siswa dan guru belum menerapkan model kooperatif tipe NHT dalam pembelajaran di kelas V SD Negeri 1 Rajabasa Raya. Metode yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah metode quasi experiment dengan desain penelitian Nonequivalent Control Group Design. Teknik pengambilan sampel menggunakan sampel jenuh. Teknik pengumpulan data adalah tes, observasi dan dokumentasi. Data dianalisis menggunakan uji regresi linier sederhana dan uji t. Hasil analisis regresi linier sederhana diperoleh kesimpulan bahwa ada pengaruh hasil belajar IPS siswa yang menggunakan model pembelajaran kooperatif tipe NHT pada kelas V SD Negeri 1 Rajabasa Raya. Sedangkan hasil analisis uji t diperoleh kesimpulan bahwa ada perbedaan hasil belajar IPS siswa yang menggunakan model kooperatif tipe NHT dengan hasil belajar IPS siswa yang menggunakan metode ceramah pada kelas V SD Negeri 1 Rajabasa Raya.Kata kunci: pembelajaran kooperatif, model kooperatif tipe NHT, dan hasil belajar IP

    Arousing elements in children’s digital interactive storybook

    This paper reports an ongoing study on making children’s digital storybook arousing.The problem being addressed in this paper is the lack of proper elements for guiding designers to incorporate into children’s digital storybook. Without the proper elements, designers tend to design digital storybook based on their preferences, instead of those usable to the children.This may lead to discouraging state when children interact with the digital storybook. To address that, this paper aims at determining the most common interface components for digital interactive storybook that make children feel aroused when interacting with. In accomplishing that, a series of field study was carried out, involving a sample of interactive digital storybook.Data were collected from 13 children aged seven to nine through observation and interview.In the end, a set of most common elements that make children aroused when interacting with interactive digital storybook were gathered

    Larvicidal activity of essential oil from citrus sinensis and Citrus paradisi against Anopheles gambiae

    Malaria is a major health challenge in the developing world causing millions of death annually. Synthetic pesticides used in the vectors control are not environmentally safe and are expensive. We screened the essential oils of Citrus sinensis and Citrus paradisi peels at concentrations ranging between 40 and 400 ppm against late 3rd instar of Anopheles gambiae larvae. The effects of ethanol and methanol on the larvicidal activity of these oils were examined. The effects of combined oils formulations on larvicidal activity were also determined. The larvicidal concentration (LC50) of the orange and grape oil was 73ppm and 76 ppm, respectively in methanol, and 121 ppm and 82 ppm in ethanol solution. The LC50 of the combined oil formulations ranged between 54 and 99ppm. The different oil combinations showed synergism except when combined at equal proportion in ethanol.     Analisis Penguasaan Konsep Siswa dalam Menyelesaikan Soal Kimia pada Materi Konsep Mol

    Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis penguasaan konsep siswa kelas XI IPA dalam menyelesaikan soal kimia pada materi konsep mol di MAN 1 Kota Gorontalo. Pendekatan yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah kualitatif dengan jenis penelitian deskriptif. Instrumen yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini yaitu pilihan ganda sebanyak 10 butir soal. Instrumen telah dilakukan uji validitas dengan hasil validasi instrumen yang diperoleh sebesar 93,3%. Responden penelitian ada 131 siswa kelas XI IPA di MAN 1 Kota Gorontalo. Pengumpulan data diperoleh dengan cara observasi, pemberian tes dan dokumentasi. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa penguasaan konsep siswa pada indikator menjelaskan konsep mol memperoleh nilai persentase sebesar 47% dengan kategori kurang, pada indikator menghitung massa atom relatif (Ar) dan massa molekul relatif (Mr) memperoleh nilai rata-rata persentase sebesar 87% dengan kategori Baik, pada indikator Mengkonversi jumlah mol dengan jumlah partikel, massa dan volume zat memperoleh nilai rata-rata persentase sebesar 79% dengan kategori baik, dan untuk indikator memprediksi rumus empiris molekul dan air kristal serta kadar zat dalam senyawa memperoleh persentase sebesar 44% dengan kategori kurang

    Adsorption and corrosion inhibition potentials of salicylaldehyde-based Schiff bases of semicarbazide and p-toluidine on mild steel in acidic medium : experimental and computational studies

    Experimental studies, supported by comprehensive density functional theory (DFT) and Monte Carlo simulation studies have been carried out on 2-(2-hydroxybenzylidene)hydrazinecarboxamide (SEMISCAD) and 2-((p-tolylimino)methyl)phenol (p-TOLUSCAD), to describe their corrosion inhibition potentials for mild steel in hydrochloric acid (HCl). The newly synthesized Schiff bases inhibit corrosion of mild steel in 1 M HCl, and their corrosion inhibition efficiencies increase with increase in concentration. Inhibition efficiencies of 79 % and 86 % were obtained for SEMISCAD and p-TOLUSCAD, respectively at 303 K and minute concentration (5 Ă— 10-4 M). The results further revealed that p-TOLUSCAD could be an averagely efficient formulation to exhibit 50% inhibition efficiency, even at elevated temperature (343 K). Both compounds were found to inhibit corrosion at the anodic and cathodic sites on the steel, and they are therefore mixed-type inhibitors. Electrochemical impedance spectroscopy (EIS) data revealed the adsorptive nature of the molecules on the steel surface. SEMISCAD and p-TOLUSCAD inhibit steel corrosion by adsorbing at steel/HCl interface via physisorption and chemisorption mechanisms. Reactivity parameters predicted from DFT calculations suggested the involvement of protonated forms of the molecules in the inhibitive process, and p-TOLUSCAD as a potentially better corrosion inhibitor than SEMISCAD, which is also supported by the adsorption characteristics derived from Monte Carlo simulations.The National Research Foundation (NRF) of South Africahttps://www.elsevier.com/locate/surfinhj2021Chemistr
